Chuck Mate
15 mins | Short film (2023)
The world is gripped by a pandemic. Chuck’s mates are all online, they are worried about him.
Director: Leroy Rogers Writer: Andrew G. Ogleby Cast: Doug Berry, Sean Alayo, Robbie Waite, Mari Alexander, Charmaine Wohlmann, Pawan Sahni, Sam Burridge, Jackie Kerr, Dennis Low, Sharon Mann, Tomek Razminowicz
Director: The action in Chuck Mate takes place in an online chat room during a pandemic. The participants (and the host) seem lonely, however it may not necessarily be the current global situation that has caused their feelings of isolation. The story mostly revolves around Chuck who has a tendency to over-exaggerate and who lives in a bit of a fantasy world. The conversation starts to enter the realms of the surreal. Is this really how it happened or are we seeing the events through Chuck’s distorted memory? Maybe it’s just another one of Chuck’s crazy clubhouse stories.
